Therapy weaves life into the fabric of our stories. We may seem rootless, but our roots spread far and wide. We struggle to make sense of our wonders, worries, and wanderings; our adventures. I love deeply those adventures. Narrative Therapy (Dulwich style) cultivates awareness, wisdom, and meaning in your life, and in the lives of others. It encourages vigorous authority over our unfolding narratives. I bring lived experience to our shared tasks of healing and finding - healing the aching, anger, anxiety and fear; finding new meaning, vigor, pride, and hope. I believe that our growing sense of fellowship, adventure, and even duty rekindles our hearts to both meaningful purpose and priceless perspective. We thrive when we find each other again, regardless of the time passed.

As a therapist, I believe in meeting people where they are. I strive to create a supportive space where you can safely explore who you are, reflect on life experiences, and grow in ways that feel true to you. Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, so our work together will honor your unique path. My approach is person-centered, and I also draw from other evidence-based practices including somatic work, CBT, and DBT. Whether we’re working on coping skills, identity exploration, or healing from trauma, I’ll be alongside you offering support, guidance, and collaboration. My experience lies in supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma (including generational and religious trauma), LGBTQ+ identity development, and other emotional experiences. I’m passionate about seeing the whole person and helping individuals build lives that feel authentic and meaningful. I earned my Master of Social Work from Bridgewater State University, and my practice is deeply rooted in social work values especially those of advocacy and seeing each person within the context of their environment and community. If you’re ready to begin this journey, I’d be honored to work with you.

At the forefront of therapy is the therapeutic alliance between the client and their therapist. As your therapist, I will work with you and help you identify areas of strengths and potential areas of growth. I believe that therapy institutes a judgement-free space where one can open up about difficulties they have had in the past, struggles they are enduring in the present, and goals they want to achieve in the future. I aim to help individuals of all ages with a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy, integrating evidence-based practices while also catering to the unique needs of the individual. Lucas earned his Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College. He began his career in Mental Health Counseling in his undergraduate experience in which he volunteered at a residential treatment program for men dealing with substance use disorders. Lucas also spent time as a Psychological Intern at the Alliance for Eating Disorders, where he focused on spreading awareness of eating disorders, focusing specifically on how they occur in men. He also spent a year and a half as a Junior Clinician and Case Manager at Pillars of Good Health. Here, Lucas worked with complex cases and aimed to achieve higher levels of functioning with his clients.

My passion is helping individuals discover their unique strengths to overcome personal barriers and improve their mental health. Using strength based techniques and solution focused approaches, my goal is to empower you with tools and strategies to facilitate emotional healing, improve self-awareness, and promote personal growth in order to live a more balanced and fulfilling life. I have over 15 years of experience working in the public school system in a variety of student support roles, most recently as a School Adjustment Counselor supporting the mental wellbeing of students dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other social-emotional challenges. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher and a Reiki Master and can offer clients coping strategies that integrate breathwork and meditation for a more balanced approach to wellness. Earlier in my career, I worked as a Leadership and Organizational Consultant, helping business leaders realize their full potential by developing and leveraging their emotional intelligence. I earned my undergraduate degree from Boston College, graduate degrees from Babson College and Lesley University, and my Masters degree in Counseling from Bridgewater State University.

My mission is to guide people through loss and trauma toward acceptance and healing. Therapy isn't a space where we "fix ourselves," but rather where we find ourselves in our pain and discover how strong we are in the process. Going to therapy is self-empowerment. It means making a conscious decision to start exploring and accepting all parts of self so that you can feel empowered to live your best life. As a clinician, I meet each client where they are, honor their individuality and unique life experience, and co-create a space where they can feel—and heal—trauma, loss, and grief.

I encourage clients to lead the conversation and ask questions to help them gain insight, reframe their perspectives, and achieve greater self-awareness. By providing this safe container to unpack your lived experience, we’ll create coping strategies to find hope, overcome trauma, and move through grief.
Inviting deep reflection into your life can help you find acceptance. By creating a warm and non-judgmental container for you to process your experiences, I can help you find a new perspective, strength, and wisdom.
Why Psychotherapy?
Your whole life could change.

At Duxbury Counseling we use traditional methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy along with nontraditional approaches such as mindfulness to accomplish the deepest level of healing possible. We believe that the mind, body and spirit can be viewed as one unit working in harmony and seeking integration and balance. We provide a safe and comfortable environment to work with clients, one in which we uncover conflicts, process trauma, depression and anxiety. We will work together to come up with useful tools to improve daily functioning and find happiness.
